✅✅ TRANSFER UPDATES: Arsenal Dump Osimhen, Vlahovic, Toney Pursuit After Discovering Prolific Striker That Has Outscored Mbappe and Haaland This Season, He Is Dubbed The New “HENRY”

Arsenal are now thought to be leading the race to sign a striker who is currently making waves across Europe with his goal-scoring form.

Mikel Arteta and his recruitment team will surely be attempting to find a striker who can change the complexion of their attack next season.

Although Gabriel Jesus shouldn’t be going anywhere, it seems fairly likely that Eddie Nketiah will start a new chapter.

Nketiah has barely featured in recent weeks and months despite how often Jesus has been missing, which tells the story itself.

Kai Havertz has given Arsenal fresh impetus as a false nine and there now simply seems no way back for his England teammate.

That being said, the perfect player to accompany Havertz and Jesus next season would be a ruthless goal-scorer.

Therefore, Arsenal fans may be pleased to hear a report from CM Sport in Portugal detailing how they are now leading the race to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres.

The 36-goal Sweden international seems to be the talk of Europe right now, and there’s a lot of noise coming from north London.

Arsenal leading the race for Viktor Gyokeres – but is he the right signing?

The report states that Arsenal would be willing to reach the striker’s £85m release clause, a deal which may present something of a gamble.

Although Gyokeres clearly has some excellent attributes, perhaps he’s not quite the perfect profile to improve Arsenal’s squad right now.

Yes he is scoring a silly amount of goals, and even providing so many assists, but the Swede would need to make significant changes to adapt at Arsenal.

Most of Gyokeres’ best work has taken place outside of the box at Sporting, spaces that are already dominated by Arsenal players at the Emirates.

Gabriel Jesus likes to play in a similar role, and in truth Leandro Trossard also presents a similar skill set when playing centrally.

Arsenal would be best served to buy a striker who can help them generate effective transitions, a player like an Erling Haaland, or simply someone who can dominate the penalty box.

Unfortunately, that’s not Gyokeres, even if Arsenal are thought to be leading the race right now. The best option for Arsenal still seems to be Victor Osimhen, a player who can effectively work in the penalty area.

And in truth, even if he isn’t quite as popular a profile as he was a few months ago, Ivan Toney probably would be a smarter option than Gyokeres if it came to it. All that considered, Arsenal may be better off chasing a Premier League winger if Osimhen isn’t available.
